The hotel was built in 1850 and completely renovated in 2002. It offers a total of 139 rooms spread over 6 floors of which 8 are singles, 75 are twin/doubles, and 47 are triples. The facilities include a cosy bar, a restaurant, 2 lifts and a conference room.

The rooms are medium in size and in good condition. All rooms are decorated in light colours with dark wooden furniture. The rooms at the front of the hotel offer attractive views over the square and the basement rooms are slightly larger. The bathrooms are in fair condition, all with showers and some with baths.

The Clubhouse Coffee Shop, which also serves as a restaurant/bar, is situated on the ground floor and overlooks the garden opposite, providing a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The restaurant offers a varied menu while the bar offers a selection of drinks and cocktails.

The hotel is non-smoking, and is open 24 hours a day. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out is by 11 am. There is a city tax payable by guests at the hotel.

Travelling by underground: Bayswater (Circle and District lines) is a 4 to 5-minute walk. Turn left out of station then left at Moscow Road. Turn right at Ilchester Gardens and then take the 1st left into Princes Square. Queensway station on the Central line is approximately 7 minutes' walk.
